Report a stolen caravan or camper
Caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes are towed away whole and re-listed interstate. VIN, chassis number and interior fit-out photos are what make a recovered van identifiable.

How theft and resale play out
- Vans are frequently moved interstate before being re-listed.
- Solar, batteries and appliances are stripped and sold separately.
- Interior photos catch re-listings that a swapped compliance plate won't.
If yours is already gone
- Report it to police and keep the event/reference number.
- Register the caravan or camper on Theftsight (or mark it stolen) with the vin / chassis number and photos.
- Share the record with your insurer — they can work the same candidate queue.
- If a listing matches, export the proof pack — never confront a seller alone.
