Report a stolen boat, jet ski or marine gear
Boats, jet skis, outboards and trailers are high-value and often stored out of sight — so theft can go unnoticed for weeks. Registering the HIN and outboard serials narrows the search fast.
The identifier that gets it back: HIN (Hull ID)
Hull Identification Number, usually on the transom's upper starboard corner. Record outboard motor serials separately — motors are stolen on their own.

How theft and resale play out
- Outboards and sounders are stripped and sold separately from the hull.
- Trailers are taken with the boat but often re-listed on their own.
- Off-season storage means many marine thefts are discovered late — early registration matters.

- Report it to police and keep the event/reference number.

Register it in two minutes — private by default. If it's stolen, Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace and eBay are scanned against it, and police and insurers on the network can see the case.
